Dr. Annika a social scientist in blockchain & crypto spaces and a Postdoc affiliate at the Persuasive Tech Lab, University of Lausanne. She's curious about how online communities form in emerging socio-technological systems, online engagement & fan behavior, the social dynamics in digital worlds, and cognitive approaches to digital culture studies. She's currently working on a large-scale research project - funded by a renowned blockchain network - that investigates identity fusion & social bonding in decentralized, pseudonymous blockchain spaces.
Her PhD focused on the question how gamified technologies afford intrinsically motivating and personally meaningful experiences in leisure contexts.
