Chandana Unnithan
Dr. Chandana Unnithan a scientist and professor in digital health from Australia, with deep expertise in Blockchain for health, Cognitive AI, IoT, Geo-spatial and remote sensing, Telehealth, Health informatics (Deep Learning /ML). She has published over 120 papers and is an invited keynote speaker/panellist at international conferences in Australia, Canada, USA, and Europe. She is an expert in pioneering novel digital solutions in public health including hospitals, using socio-technical approaches and privacy preserving protocols.
In Canada, she is currently CSIO of Lifeguard Digital Health Inc., a B2B SaaS company that has been saving lives from the opioid crisis by preventing deaths by overdose, using privacy preserving approaches. She is a member of the CIO Association of Canada and on the advisory committee of the MyPDX blockchain project from the Digital Technology Supercluster, Canada. She is also on the medical research advisory board of Rapid Response Revival, Australia, a company that has invented the smallest defibrillators.
Globally, she serves as an appointed expert reporting to the WHO Digital Health Technical Advisory Group in the roster of experts; and is a digital health expert and representative for Australia in the United Nations Scientific and Technical Sub Committee of COPUOS [UN COPUOS STSC WG-SGH]
