Fangyu Gai

Doctoral Student

Fangyu Gai is a Ph.D. student at the University of British Columbia School of Engineering. He is supervised by Prof. Chen Feng, who is the co-cluster lead of Blockchain@UBC. Fangyu Gai joined the graduate student path of Blockchain@UBC since 2019. His research interests lie in distributed systems, Byzantine fault tolerance, and layer-2 scaling for blockchains. Between 2019 - 2020, Fangyu Gai worked with Dapper Labs, a Vancouver-based blockchain company famous for Crypto Kitties, and contributed to building the consensus layer of their Flow Blockchain.
