Jason Schacher
Jason is an Rx2022 PharmD Candidate out of the University of British Columbia. He currently holds a Certificate for Leading Digital Transformation in Healthcare out of Harvard Medical School and is scheduled to be enrolled in the Micro Certificate in Blockchain Innovation and Implementation this upcoming Fall. Jason has recently completed a feasibility study out of UBC on integrating video conference services within Community Pharmacies to potentially carry out clinical services. Currently, he is working with several faculty members and students across multiple departments to create a new Digital Transformation in Health Association within British Columbia. With an aim to establish a community of students, faculty, and stakeholders that will be prepared to educate, empower and promote the healthcare customer’s engagement within the digital space.
Jason holds a vision that decentralised health is one of many future platforms that will disrupt the current barriers in healthcare. Living in the spiritual, and culturally strong Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation Island community of Ahousaht, Jason believes that healthcare should be equally accessible to patrons regardless of where one calls home. It is his personal goal to extend and adapt his abilities through active engagement & experiences to facilitate an overall focus in life – To connect people to each other by eliminating barriers that may be present in accessing equitable, effective, and culturally safe healthcare practices.
