Zach Masum

Zach leads BCSC’s Fintech and Innovation Team (FIT), which handles a broad spectrum of fintech-related matters including DeFi, AI/machine learning, DLT, robo-advising, crowdfinancing, online trading and other technology-focused business models. As the BCSC’s Manager, Legal Services (Capital Markets Regulation) Zach also manages a team of lawyers and professionals working on a broad variety of other matters including registration matters; marketplace, exchange and trading issues; oversight of self-regulatory organizations and marketplace infrastructure; conduct of dealers, advisers and investment fund managers; and other issues impacting capital markets. Zach is a Canadian and U.S. lawyer who has been working for 19 years in private practice, in-house financial sector and government legal roles.
