Zakir Jamal Suleman

Zakir Jamal Suleman research interests sit at the intersection of value-sensitive design, information architecture, and blockchain systems. Most recently, he worked with a partner from Microsoft Research and an interdisciplinary team of PHD students to investigate how to support knowledge workers when they get stuck on conceptual tasks. He is a graduate student in the Master’s of Library and Information Science program, supervised by Dr. Victoria Lemieux and Dr. Heather O’Brien. His research explores how to design engaging user experiences for Blockchain systems that facilitate user trust. He has worked in civic engagement, facilitation, and consultation roles with partners from the Canadian government. He currently works as a research assistant, helping to support Equity Diversity and Inclusion practices within the UBC Faculty of Science.
