May 10-21, 2021
Blockchain@UBC is pleased to offer our fifth annual Blockchain@UBC Summer Institute, an intensive program designed to provide undergraduates and graduates from UBC or eligible universities under the Western Dean’s Agreement studying in any discipline with advanced and specialized training in blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLTs). The two-week program combines case-based and protocol-focused training workshops with a two-day “Blockathon for Social Good". Workshops are designed and delivered in collaboration with our industry and academic partners and cover a wide range of topics.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the 2021 Blockchain@UBC Summer Institute will be held synchronously online daily for two weeks from May 10-21, Monday-Friday 9-5 pm Pacific Daylight Time. Each day will be divided into 2 3 hour long workshops on a specific topic of focus. Students will be expected to participate in at least 14 three-hour online workshops in the Summer Institute equating to 42 contact hours.
In the lead-up to the Summer Institute, workshop participants will be provided access to a detailed Syllabus, which provides specific information about the topics, readings, and/or software to be referenced and used in each workshop for this year’s offering of the summer institute.
Students who wish to participate in this year’s summer institute for credit should enroll for the UBC course ARST575N or LIBR 595U. For course enrollment questions, please contact the UBC School of Information's Graduate Program Assistant, Sandy Abah at ischool.program@ubc.ca.
